The woman behind the music

Meet "Ms.Calliope", our very special and very talented Calliope player.  With few exceptions, Ms. Calliope serenades the city three times a day on her steam powered organ.  Before radio, TV, internet etc.  the Calliope was the way to announce that the steamboat had come to town.  We still use it as a way to announce that the steamboat is at the Mississippi River dock for all to see!
